No Tears

I agree almost completely with Jonah Goldberg's reaction to Micheal Jackson's death. The media furor and adoration is unseemly. Yes, he was a pop star who once captured the imagination of a large segment of the population, but the life he lead should not be celebrated. In a more grown-up age the tone of the media coverage would be more somber than celebratory, reflecting the fact that this terribly talented man lived a terribly tragic and wasteful life.
